Sentence Execution and Time-to-Serve Calculation
See how the relevant periods are calculated by considering the offence, date, sentence, credited time and special circumstances together. The results do not replace a case-file review or an official sentence calculation document.
The calculation consists of four sections. For files within scope, the offence type and date display an automatic rate Special statutes, transitional provisions, and the article and paragraph stated in the judgment must also be checked separately. Data is processed only in your browser.
Law No. 7571 (25.12.2025): It changed the conditions for earlier transfer to an open institution and probation for certain offences committed on or before 31.07.2023. Because the time spent in an institution, offence exceptions and the conditions for transfer to an open institution must be considered, this additional transition date is not generated automatically. For eligible offences committed on or before 30.03.2020, the basic three-year probation window under provisional Article 6/1 is calculated separately.
Law No. 7589 (31.07.2026): It provides for a one-half reduction in the sentence for a specified form of participation in offences under Articles 157–158 of the Turkish Penal Code; it does not change the general conditional release rate. This form uses the final term of imprisonment imposed by the court and does not itself apply any possible reduction.
Law No. 7593 (18.08.2026): The counting of days spent in an institution by children depends on the actual days in the file and is not included in the automatic date calculation here. Do not read the dates below as an official sentence calculation applying all three of these amendments.

Separate Calculations by Offence Date
| Offence date | Conditional release rate | Probation / transition |
|---|---|---|
| Before 01.06.2005 | The previous law and the more favourable application are compared in the file; there is no automatic rate. | Transitional provisions are examined in the file. |
| 01.06.2005–27.06.2014 | General rate 1/2; 2/3 for TPC 102–105 and 188 under provisional Article 9/4; rates for other special offences are classified separately. | For eligible offences committed before 30.03.2020, a basic three-year window under provisional Article 6/1. |
| 28.06.2014–30.03.2020 | General rate 1/2; 3/4 for adults in TPC 188 and qualified sexual offences; special offences and recidivism are assessed separately. | For eligible offences, a basic three-year window under provisional Article 6/1. |
| 31.03.2020–31.07.2023 | 1/2, 2/3 or 3/4 depending on the offence group. | The basic window is one year; any additional early transition under Law No. 7571/provisional Article 10/6 is examined in the file. |
| 01.08.2023–03.06.2025 | 1/2, 2/3 or 3/4 depending on the offence group. | The basic window is one year; outside the offence-date threshold of Law No. 7571. |
| 04.06.2025 and after | 1/2, 2/3 or 3/4 depending on the offence group; second recidivism 3/4. | In addition to the basic one-year window, the preliminary calculation takes into account the threshold under Article 105/A requiring at least 1/10 of the period and at least five days to be spent in an institution. |
These dates relate to different rules: 28.06.2014 concerns the rate for certain offences, 30.03.2020 the basic probation period, 31.07.2023 additional transition, and 04.06.2025 the minimum institutional stay. Law No. 7589 of 2026 does not introduce a general rate. The actual days a child convict spends in an institution are not calculated by this form.
Does It Calculate According to the Latest Judicial Reform Packages?
Partly. The general conditional release rate and, in certain adult files, the minimum stay period under Article 105/A are calculated. The additional earlier transfer to an open institution and probation under Law No. 7571, redetermination of the sentence under Law No. 7589, and actual child institutional days under Law No. 7593 are not included in the automatic calculation. For older offence dates, the basic probation window is shown; the additional early date under Law No. 7571 is not calculated separately.
How Should the Result Be Read?
Probation is a separate method of execution; conditions such as transfer to an open institution, good conduct, an application and a decision of the execution judge are assessed. Any credited time is deducted only to the extent applicable to this file. Life imprisonment is outside the scope of this form.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this result replace the official sentence calculation document?
No. The official sentence calculation prepared by the execution prosecutor’s office and the decisions in the file prevail.
How does the date of birth affect the result?
For persons under 18 on the offence date, the rate for certain offences differs; the counting of days spent in an institution is also assessed separately under Article 107/5 of Law No. 5275 as amended by Law No. 7593.
Why are exact days in open and closed institutions not provided?
Transfer to an open institution does not depend solely on sentence length. The offence, institution, good conduct, disciplinary status and regulatory conditions are also relevant.
